Dorset County Women's Interclub 2027 Entry

Women’s Inter Club Cup 2027
Rules and Terms

Qualifications
1. Clubs must be affiliated to Dorset Golf.
2. A drawn round robin format played in divisions with a team consisting of five players.
3. A Club may only enter one team.
4. Entry to be submitted by Clubs who will pay the entry fee.
5. Should a Club withdraw from the competition before 1st April of the playing year, which results in an imbalance in the divisions, the T&C Committee shall have authority to make an adjustment to the draw sheet so as to be fair to all participating Clubs.
Terms of Play
6. All matches are played over 18 holes matchplay off course handicap. A team consists of five players. The maximum Handicap Index is 20.4. Any players with a higher handicap index selected for a team must play off the maximum permitted Handicap Index of 20.4.
7. It is the responsibility of both clubs to ensure fixtures are played within the time allocated. Both weekend and weekdays are to be considered. No extensions will be allowed.
8. Courtesy of the course for the visiting club on the day of the match must be offered.
9. The competition is played in a round robin format in divisions between April 1st and August 15th. If a Club withdraws before the 1st April and this results in an imbalance in the divisions the T&C Committee shall have the authority to adjust the draw sheet so as to be fair to all participating Clubs.
10. The Semi Final and Finals will be played between the divisional winners at neutral courses determined by the Operations Director.
11. Any disputes should be referred to the T&C Committee whose decision is final.

Order of Play
12. Matches will be played under handicap, full difference of Course Handicap, and in strict Handicap Index order. If a team plays in the wrong Handicap Index order, all the affected individual games are forfeited. (Provided both Team Captains agree, once team sheets have been exchanged, the playing order of games may be changed.)
13. If a team member plays off a higher Handicap Index, her individual game is forfeited. If the order of play is affected, then ‘a’ above also applies.
14. If any members of the team fail to appear on the day of a match, the opposing team will be awarded a walkover for any individual game not played. Captains are therefore advised to take reserves. If a reserve has to be substituted for an absent player, it must be done before lists have been exchanged as failure to do this may incur the penalty at ‘a’ above.
15. Individual games which are forfeited or awarded a walkover should be recorded on the score sheet as a 6&5 win.
16. The ‘Home’ Club should submit the match result sheet, clearly indicating Handicap Index & Course Handicap, and individual game results, duly agreed by both Team Captains to the Operations Director on the day of the match. Any query concerning any aspect of the match must be referred to the Operations Director before the match sheet is submitted.

Scoring
17. One point shall be scored for each individual win or walkover. Individual games all square after 18 holes shall score half a point, except in the semi-finals and final, when all games must be played to a conclusion.
Points
18. Each Club shall score one point for a win and half a point for a match halved with another Club. The Club which has scored the most points in each division is the winner.
Ties
19. In the event of two or more Clubs scoring an equal number of points, the tie shall be decided on the individual games won. A further tie will be decided on the number of holes up.

Prizes
20. The winning club shall receive the Inter Club Cup; the losing finalists shall receive the Inter Club Runners Up Trophy immediately after the result has been announced.
